Our First solo trade fair – Exclusively Housewares 2021

It’s taken me a month to get round to, but here (finally) are some photos from Exclusively Housewares which we attended at the end of August!

Exclusively Housewares is a lovely trade show with a really great atmosphere and this year was no exception. In fact, I’d say there was even more of a buzz than normal, probably due to being one of the first trade events since the start of the pandemic. Buyers and exhibitors were visibly happy to be back at face-to-face meetings. Not to mention being able to see and touch new products!

Our small team worked incredibly hard to get ready for the show in the months before – it was our first time exhibiting at a trade fair as our own company. Quite nerve-wracking! With our new catalogues and business cards in tow, we set off to London full of ambition and excitement!

And what a wonderful response we had! Some fantastic new customers found us at the show – some who have stocked Katie Alice before and some brand new ones. And so many compliments on the stand!

We also previewed our two new collections at the show. Blooming Margret, which is due to arrive at the end of the month, and Josie’s Blush which launches early next year – you can sneak a little look at these in the photos below!

On Trend for 2022

We were also incredibly grateful to have been selected and included in Scarlet Opus’s trends for 2022 with our English Garden Collection – in particular the new yellow gingham pieces!

The trend we were included in was named Togetherness and focused on collaboration, connectivity and community. There was a strong focus on how fast fashion is becoming a thing of the past. Regenerating or reconnecting with past styles would become more important over the next few years. We love this ethos at KA so were thrilled to be part of the trend presentation at Exclusively Housewares.

I love the Business Design Centre in Islington for shows. it’s not too big plus there are some amazing cafes, restaurants and shops in the area! We had a lovely lunch at Ottolenghi on set-up day (with takeaway dessert for later of course!), and fantastic Ramen at Kanada-Ya for dinner one evening. The oat milk flat whites and Portuguese egg custard tarts from Kobo Cafe were the perfect late morning pick-me-ups! Annie’s on Camden Passage is one of my favourite Vintage Shops too!

I hope you enjoyed this little run down of our first Exclusively Housewares! Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us or who complimented our stand on social media. We’re so happy to be back!
