For winter 2018 we head back towards a more traditional style design with our new Wild Apricity collection, whose delicate colour palette is reflective of the changing seasons. As well as the usual inspiration from vintage artwork, Wild Apricity is also inspired by wandering through the market of my beautiful hometown on chilly Friday mornings in Autumn.

The market comes to Stamford every week, with every other week being a farmer’s market, where bountiful veg stands piled up with local produce line the Georgian streets along with the local flower growers freshly picked stems of autumnal foliage. As Autumn begins to arrive the bright hues of summer tail off and with the start of game season, braces of pheasants will be found alongside other seasonal offerings. In the garden the roses flower for the last time of the year and thistle heads stand tall while the greens of summer begin to die back.

A vintage floral bouquet of English roses and rusted autumnal foliage is paired against a blush pink and moody dark background to fit some of my favourite current trends. A pretty lace pattern is also mixed in with the design. The simple lace dinnerware reflects a move on from the Rustic Lace collection which was inspired by a vintage lace bracelet Matt bought for me from a Paris boutique. And then there are a couple of signature pieces which include some vintage illustrations of birds to add a quirky element to the design. All elements are designed to work separately or mixed together for an eclectic table setting.

Wild Apricity currently comes on all our best-selling pieces such as mugs, dinner plates, side plates, bowls and a teacup and saucer. I’m so thrilled that this collection has already been so well received we already have several other products being added to the range for spring next year, including a teapot, sugar and creamer and cake stand just to name a few.

And for those of you wondering, Apricity is an old word that has sadly fallen out of use, just like the vintage artwork that inspires each Katie Alice design. So, I’m proposing we resurrect it! It means ‘the warmth of the winter sun’ which gives me all the feels.

To celebrate the launch we’re giving away a lovely pair of the new Wild Apricity Tankard Mugs pictured below, to enter all you need to do is re-post the image that Katie shares on Instagram this Friday with the hashtag #katiealicegiveaway and @ mention us @alice_foxglove – The lucky winner will be announced on Monday…Good luck x
