A couple of weeks ago I got to do one of my favourite parts of the job – photography for the new catalogue! I love getting involved styling and propping the photos and lets face it – everyone loves a day out the office. Especially a scorcher like this one! Quite bazaar trying to create a wintery atmosphere on one of the hottest days of the year but seeing at this was the Autumn/winter 2014 photoshoot we did our best to ignore the glorious sunshine and try and get those winter chills back into action!
We shot at the most lovely location – Foxtail Lilly is a beautiful florist and vintage shop in the historic market town of Oundle in Northamptonshire which is where I went to school (not to the posh one!).
Tracey the owner set the shop up in one of the outbuildings to her home and she offers plants for sale, hand tied bouquets (she posts lovely photos of these on her Facebook page), vintage bits and bobs and up-cycled furniture all in the prettiest of settings! She has a cutting garden behind her house where she grows a lot of the flowers for her shop and during the summer she also gets involved with the NGS charities open garden where you can sneak through the curious looking wooden door at the side of her house and wander round her usually secret garden whilst munching on homemade cakes!
This photo shoot was particularly exciting as we were photographing the new additions to the Highland Fling range which will now include a whole table setting complete with glassware, cutlery, the new stag addition and decorative pieces for the home.
Here are some behind the scenes photos I took so you can have a glance at what you can expect to see from September/October.
Our trusty photographer John Bellars …
We found this great stags head at Foxtail Lilly and after it was given the Katie Alice treatment of a floral wreath it suited the range amazingly and proved extremely useful for mug shots!
I’m really excited to share Johns amazing new photography with you but I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a a few more weeks to see it!
