Meet our lovely Rainbow Charity Bag!
Ever since the start of the pandemic, we at Katie Alice have wanted to find a way to contribute to the lives of others that are struggling during these unprecedented times. Many charities have been left struggling financially due to summer fund-raising events being cancelled, and donations coming in less frequently. The rainbow has become a symbol of hope and support throughout the last 6 months. Delilah and I have spent many days walking through Stamford and pointing out all the different rainbows around the town. It seemed the perfect symbol along with a pretty, hand-painted vintage floral so the rainbow charity bag was born.
The wildflower design features pink dog roses, English primroses, and blue bellflowers. Made from beautifully soft, yet heavyweight pale pink cotton canvas, the bags have the rainbow, floral and star design to one side. We have ordered a small batch of 250 bags from our lovely friends in Sheffield.
Action for children
COVID-19 has meant a difficult time for so many people – especially for vulnerable children who may already have been struggling with issues of homelessness, neglect, or abuse. Action for Children is a brilliant charity supporting and protecting families and children that need practical or emotional care. Their important work includes support for parents, families, children and young people, campaigning for change, publishing research and influencing policy, and fostering and adoption. We will be donating a third of the sale of each bag – or £4 per bag. This will hopefully mean we hope we can reach our target of £1000.
A donation will be made to Action for Children following the sale of these bags. You can read more about the amazing work they do here.
The bags are certified by Fairtrade and GOTS – we even get the label to prove it! Organic cotton is grown without pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers, in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The bags are also printed in a way that means they comply with the Global Organic Textile Standard. We’re proud to say the cotton comes from Fairtrade certified cotton farmers. This means everything from the growing, processing and manufacturing all meet the Fairtrade Standards. Better.
The bags will be available to buy exclusively online from us next week! Make sure you are following us either on Instagram, Facebook or are signed up to our email newsletter to be notified!
I am lovingly wrapping each bag with my own fair hands and they will come with an A6 rainbow card which could be cute framed!
And they are a limited run of just 250 so if you want to help us in our mission raise £1000 for Action for Children then be quick!
